Welcome to The Flower Shop Blog
As we settle into 2025, I want to take a moment to reflect on what an incredible journey it has been, both personally and professionally. From designing wedding bouquets filled with fresh blooms to hosting creative workshops and curating thoughtful gifts, every project has been crafted with love and care.
A Season of Joy and New Beginnings
The past year brought so much happiness, but nothing compares to the joy of welcoming my beautiful granddaughter Emmy into the world! Becoming Nana Carol has been one of life’s greatest blessings! Little Emmy reminds me daily to appreciate life’s beauty, much like the flowers I work with in the shop!!
What’s Blooming This Year?
As always, weddings hold a special place in my heart. I approach each bouquet design with thought, joy, and dedication, knowing it will be part of one of the most important days in someone’s life. Whether it’s romantic roses, whimsical wildflowers, or elegant peonies, I love creating floral magic for every bride!
In addition to weddings, I will continue hosting seasonal workshops. These gatherings have become such a joyful part of our floral calendar. Keep an eye out for upcoming announcements, whether you’re interested in crafting floral arrangements or simply enjoying an afternoon of creativity and community spirit!
Looking Ahead: Valentine’s and Spring Blooms
With Valentine’s Day around the corner, we’re gearing up to help you say I love you with stunning bouquets. Spring will follow shortly after, bringing a fresh palette of colours and new opportunities to create beauty for your homes and events.
Thank you for being part of The Flower Shop’s journey. Your support, kindness, and love for flowers mean everything to me. Here’s to a year filled with beauty, love, and blooming possibilities!
Warm wishes,
Carol

My favourite summer flower
Welcome to my floral world! I'm Carol, a passionate florist with a love for crafting beauty through flowers. With each petal, stem, and arrangement, I aim to bring joy and elegance into people's lives.
For me, floristry is more than just a profession; it's a creative journey where I get to blend nature's wonders with my imagination. While I adore all aspects of floral design, weddings hold a special place in my heart. There's something magical about being part of a couple's big day and witnessing the sheer delight on the bride's face when I unveil her meticulously crafted bouquet.
Whether it's a romantic bouquet, a stunning centerpiece, or an elaborate floral installation, I pour my heart and soul into every creation, ensuring it reflects the unique style and personality of my clients.
Join me in celebrating life's moments with the timeless beauty of flowers.

Peonies
Peonies, known for their lush, full blossoms and vibrant colors, are a favorable option for hay fever sufferers due to their low pollen production. These elegant flowers produce a heavy, waxy pollen that is less likely to become airborne, minimizing the risk of triggering allergic reactions. Choosing peonies allows individuals to enjoy the beauty of blooms without significant exposure to allergens, making them a perfect choice for those with hay fever.
Daffodils
Daffodils, with their trumpet-shaped blooms and vivid hues, are a hay fever-friendly choice as they have minimal pollen. Additionally, their pollen is heavy and less likely to become airborne, reducing the risk of triggering allergic reactions. Opting for daffodils allows hay fever sufferers to enjoy the charm of spring flowers without the typical pollen-related discomfort.
Snapdragons
The Snapdragon flower, scientifically known as Antirrhinum, is characterized by its unique tubular shape resembling a dragon's mouth. This vibrant bloom is hypoallergenic, producing minimal pollen that is less likely to trigger hay fever symptoms. Its low-pollen feature makes it an ideal choice for individuals with allergies, providing the beauty of flowers without exacerbating allergic reactions.
The red rose, an embodiment of love and passion, unfurls its velvety petals in a rich crimson hue. Each delicate layer of the bloom holds within it a timeless allure, symbolizing affection, romance, and beauty. Its fragrance, both sweet and intoxicating, wafts gently, captivating hearts and evoking emotions. Whether given as a gesture of admiration, used to convey heartfelt sentiments, or simply admired for its natural elegance, the red rose stands as an enduring emblem of love and devotion throughout generations.
Purchasing flowers from a florist rather than a supermarket offers several advantages. Florists are experts in their craft, providing unique benefits that supermarkets typically can't match:
1. Quality and Freshness: Florists often source their flowers directly from growers, ensuring fresher and higher-quality blooms. Supermarkets may not prioritize freshness as much, and their flowers may have a shorter lifespan.
2. Variety and Selection: Florists offer a wider range of flowers, including exotic and seasonal varieties. They can help you create custom arrangements tailored to your preferences, making your bouquet more special and personalized.
3. Expertise: Florists have a deep understanding of floral arrangements and can provide advice on the best choices for your specific occasion, color schemes, and design ideas.
4. Customization: Florists can create bespoke arrangements that match your vision and theme, allowing for more creativity and customization than the limited options at a supermarket.
5. Design and Presentation: Florists excel in arranging flowers artistically. They pay attention to details like vase selection, wrapping, and decorative elements, enhancing the overall presentation of the bouquet.
6. Occasion-Specific Recommendations: Florists can recommend flowers that suit specific occasions or sentiments, ensuring your gift conveys the appropriate message.
7. Support Local Businesses: By buying from a florist, you support local businesses and contribute to the growth of your community.
While supermarkets are convenient, for special occasions or when you want the best quality and a personalized touch, working with a skilled florist is often the preferred choice.
